Roadtell ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit or buy from our store, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have. It applies to our website and to any communication you have with us.
1. Who we are
This store is operated by Roadtell TTS, trading as Roadtell. For any privacy question, contact us at contact@roadtell.com.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us:
- contact details, such as your name, email address, phone number and shipping and billing address;
- order details, such as the products you buy and your order history;
- anything you send us, such as messages to customer support, return or warranty requests, and photos or videos of an issue with your product.
Information collected automatically:
- device and browser information, IP address, approximate location, pages viewed and how you interact with our store;
- information collected through cookies and similar technologies (see section 6).
Payment information: payments are processed by our payment providers. We do not store your full card number on our servers.
3. Dash cam recordings
Recordings made by your dash cam are stored on the memory card in your device and, if you use it, in the camera's companion app on your phone. We do not receive, access or store your recordings. We only see footage if you choose to send it to us, for example to show a product issue, and we use it only to help you and delete it when your request is closed. You are responsible for how you record, keep and share footage, as described in our Terms of Service.
4. How we use your information
- to process and ship your order, send order and shipping updates, and handle returns, refunds and warranty claims;
- to answer your questions and provide customer support, including setup help;
- to prevent fraud and keep our store secure;
- to improve our store, products and customer experience;
- to send you marketing emails or messages, only if you have agreed to receive them. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email;
- to show you relevant ads on other websites and social media;
- to comply with our legal and tax obligations.
5. Who we share your information with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run our store, such as:
- our e-commerce platform (Shopify), which hosts our store and processes orders;
- payment processors;
- suppliers, fulfilment partners and shipping carriers that prepare and deliver your order;
- email and customer support tools;
- analytics and advertising partners, such as Google and Meta.
We may also share information if required by law, to protect our rights, or as part of a business transfer such as a merger or sale.
6. Cookies and tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep your cart working, remember your preferences, understand how our store is used and measure our ads. Where required by law, we ask for your consent before using non-essential cookies. You can change your choices in the cookie banner or in your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect how the store works.
7. Legal basis (EU and UK customers)
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process your personal information on these legal bases: to perform our contract with you (processing and delivering your order), our legitimate interests (running and improving our store, preventing fraud), your consent (marketing and non-essential cookies), and to comply with the law.
8. International transfers
Our service providers may process your information in countries other than your own, including the United States. When we transfer information from the EEA or the UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
9. How long we keep your information
We keep order information for as long as needed to fulfil your order, handle warranty claims and meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations. Marketing information is kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- access the personal information we hold about you;
- correct information that is inaccurate;
- ask us to delete your information;
- object to or restrict certain processing, including direct marketing;
- receive a copy of your information in a portable format;
- withdraw your consent at any time.
California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for targeted advertising. We do not sell personal information for money.
To exercise any of these rights, email contact@roadtell.com. We will respond within the time required by law. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
11. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to keep your information safe.
12. Children
Our store is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
